Hidden with the pine forest as a neighbour, nestles this simple and honest gravel garden. In this unique garden, the biggest challenge was locating the pockets between the bedrock, providing a sense of place, large enough to socialise and dine and others, deep enough for planting to be arranged to screen off and to decorate the garden.
Tall gates screen off the strongest winds, when entering into this calm courtyard. The philosophy behind this garden revolved around a sheltered small scale oasis, where the paste is slow and where to stroll and relax. Stepping stone paths lead the way from outdoor room to outdoor room across the bedrock, with playful, crafted circular shaped slate expression as interesting viewpoints along the way. The calm surface of the water of a corten steel water bowl is a tranquil addition next to the dining area, as well as a welcoming bird bath and help small wildlife.
