This vibrant and friendly family desired a garden that was in tune with their lifestyle with a generous lawn for children to play and a garden to explore, as well as spaces for large gatherings and hang outs. The house and garden is open to the landscape, beautifully connecting to the sea and sky. Drifts of airy grasses and colourful foliage and flowers highlight the edge of the pool, with paths leading down to the lower garden.
One path serves as a link to a secluded plateau, a typical Swedish “Syrenberså”, a sheltered seating area, amongst Syringa hedge, with an opening towards the borrowed landscape with spectacular views.
Oversized slate slabs and granite boulders are statements in the garden, contrasting to naturalistic perennial beds, a mixture of herbaceous perennials, grasses, bulbs and rose shrubs. This simple expression created with extensive horticultural knowledge, unifies the house and the garden in its sophistication and simplicity, creating unique moments.
A sauna and orangery prolongs the Nordic seasons, where the garden can be utilised off season, for good moments of “Hygge” and where to spend quality time together.
